Signor Valentino, Cardiff Bay

I have always fancied this Italian restaurant in Mermaid Quay, not only because of its good reviews but also because I love Italian food! I'm pleased to say that this contemporary Italian restaurant didn't disappoint. I know this may seem like a bit of a boring choice but I had the classic caesar salad to start and it left me wondering why my homemade caesar salads never ever taste like those you get in a good restaurant? My main course was equally as nice - risotto ai gamberoni (king prawn risotto in a tomato & chilli sauce - yummy!) Neil was drooling over my dish more than his own, which was also very nice - penne spezzatino (no jokes please!) penne pasta with fillet steak pieces in tomato and garlic sauce. We shared a melt in the middle chocolate pudding with a scoop of traditional vanilla gelato - mouthwatering! Great glass of Pinot Grigio here too. To top everything off, we were also able to claim the 2 for 1 deal on main courses using voucher cloud which was a real bargain for the meals we had. The staff asked us to complete an online feedback form at the end of our meal and the following day we both received a £5 voucher for Signor Valentino. It's just a shame that the voucher had an expiry date and we wouldn't be in Cardiff again so soon in order for us to take advantage of the money off deal. Hurry up Signor Valentino and open a restaurant in Swansea, or better yet Neath! I'd definitely recommend this restaurant, good location in Cardiff Bay, friendly staff and top notch Italian food!
